Engraved Book Illustrations
Engraved style illustrations created using Photoshop to manipulate public domain photos. I have always been a fan of old engraved book illustrations that featured intricate cross-hatching. However, doing it by hand is incredibly tedious and time consuming, so I wanted to see if I could create a similar effect digitally by taking an image and automating the process.  After researching the concept spending a day experimenting and trying different approaches, I was able to come up with a pretty flexible and effective method that used Photoshop’s smart objects and smart filters to transform a photo into an engraved illustration.
